Artist Statement

The majority of my artwork is created with pastel. I tried branching out this year working with clay bringing some of my 2D ideas into 3D. Over any type of media I feel pastel is what I am most comfortable with. One artist that has influenced me the most through out my school career was Vincent Van Gough. His blending techniques have taught me so much. I look up to how he used art as an expression. I relate to him in ways of wanting seclusion and creating art that I like not fitting one form. I am most inspired by anatomy which is where my curricular interest is. I combine art and science through my art showing how being a stem kid who respects and creates art.
