Ellie Pelletier
I am an artist who doesnt go out of bounds. I use charcoal to the best of my abilities to encapsulate silhouettes and darkness within the subject. I draw realistic images and incorporate demon-like dramatic features to the portrait to encapsulate the feeling of dysmorphia within the portrait to make the viewer relate in some way. I use contrasting colors to each piece to capture the feeling of each one. What inspired me is my own feelings. I incorporate in my work whether its color or theme. The subjects that I incorporate in my work are mostly dysmorphia. The dramatic features that I draw capture the feelings of not knowing what you really look like and how you feel sometimes when you are looking in the mirror. I use this theme because I feel like most teenage girls in society depict themselves differently than they actually are and it's a collective feeling that is not talked about but is always there and I feel like it's important to capture it and display it.
