My work is a multitude of 3D works, and I like to incorporate various philosophical views into my art through the use of historical or pre-existing symbols that connect. I take the ideas behind these views on life and transform them into art, pushing myself to come up with creative ideas to convey these concepts. I am most inspired by musicians like Mitski who include emotions and feelings in their works through interpretive lyrics and movements, and films like Everything Everywhere All at Once that take characters and emotions, expanding upon how they view themselves and everything around them with lots of artistic visuals and symbols. The sheer number of ways these views and philosophies can be and have been represented is so interesting to me, with how so many different people can view the world in various ways, contemplating life and the things around them, but still connecting. I have explored various media throughout my work, including ceramics, papier mache, cardboard, and plants, to further expand upon the contrasting ideas in each philosophy by having my pieces not all be the same medium. Overall, I aim to use my work to prompt viewers to challenge their pre-existing beliefs and consider what the sculptures and symbols represent, as well as how the artistic process and the actual sculptures connect to the philosophies they are based on.
